Mingyang Smart Energy is committed to using green and intelligent energy to benefit the globe as a top-tier producer of wind turbines and a clean power integrated solution provider. As one of the top offshore wind innovators and among the top 500 global enterprises, they work in the wind and solar industries.

We’ll discover more about the global industry business of Mingyang, the infrastructures they’ve built, and some of the projects and achievements Mingyang has accomplished, specifically on wind turbines.

Ming Yang Wind Power Group Limited is China’s largest privately owned and fifth-largest total wind turbine producer. Mingyang has worked hard to establish itself as a leading new energy sector organization in China, to generate CYN 100 billion in revenue annually.

Mingyang Smart Energy

Mingyang Wind Energy Group Co., Ltd., with its headquarters in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China, was founded in 2006 and was preceded by Guangdong Mingyang Wind Power Industrial Group Co., Ltd.

In addition, they dedicate to developing into a provider of value chain management and systems for renewable energy supply across its whole life cycle.

Furthermore, Mingyang is ranked first in the offshore wind innovation rating in 2016 and 40th among the world’s top 500 new energy enterprises in 2020 as a global manufacturer. They currently operate an intelligent energy organization that leads the Chinese region and dramatically impacts the rest of the world.

Mingyang makes every effort to satisfy clients’ needs by delivering comprehensive solutions:

  1. A 20% reduction in the total cost of electricity usage
  2. Increase in produced system efficiency by at least 30% overall
  3. Raising the energy supply facilities’ usage rate to at least 20%
  4. Roughly lowering the amount of government support funds, a quarter
  5. Efficient carbon dioxide emissions on wind farm site

Global Allies

China’s prominent five power firms (China Huaneng Group, China Datang Corporation, China Guodian Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, and State Power Investment Corporation) and private sectors are partners in cooperation projects with Mingyang.

As a result, more than 400 wind farms are owned and operated by Mingyang products in Bulgaria, Europe, India, Romania, Pakistan, and South Africa.

As well as that, Mingyang creates two key business divisions: high-end manufacturing, which places a premium on independently developed core technologies, and centers on wind power creation and management to enhance global allies.

Project Milestones

16 MW MySE 16.0-242 Offshore Wind turbine

With a 16 MW nameplate capacity, the MySE 16.0-242 wind turbine from Chinese company MingYang Wind Energy is reportedly the world’s largest hybrid drive wind turbine.

Undoubtedly, according to the data of MingYang Manufacturer, the MySE 16.0-242, whose design has just received certification from DNV and the China General Certification Center (CGC), is slated for complete prototype scheduled in 2022, prototype installation in the first half of 2023, and commercial production in the first half of 2024, compared to Mingyang’s previous turbine model.

The MySE 16.0-242 features a 242-meter diameter rotor, 118-meter-long blades, and a 46,000 square meter swept area, which is more than six soccer fields. As a result, a single MySE 16.0-242 can produce the industry’s largest rotor and highest nominal rating.

Last but not least, according to Qiying Zhang, President and on behalf of the owners and Chinese community of Ming Yang Smart, the debut of their new largest offshore wind turbine, MySE 16.0-242, is expected to be a perfect representation of the three primary forces of technology evolution – demand, combination, and iteration.

16 MW MySE 16.0-242 Turbine Specification

  • Nameplate capacity: 16MW
  • Height: 866 feet (264 m)
  • Blade length: 387 feet (118 m)
  • Rotor diameter: 794 feet (242 m)
  • Annual power production: 80 million kWh

11MW MySE 11-230 Offshore Wind turbine

MingYang Smart Energy, as a global manufacturer, has been given a contract by Guangdong Electric Power Development to provide its MySE 11-230 typhoon-proof hybrid-drive turbines for a 1 GW offshore wind turbines project.

Moreover, the project has two phases: 600 MW Qingzhou 1 and 400 MW Qingzhou 2. They will set it up in deep waters off the coast of Guangdong Province.

At this time, the Board of Directors of Guangdong Electric Power Development decided in November of last year that its wholly-owned subsidiary Guangdong Wind Power Generation Company.

For this reason, the two wind farms will deliver 3.6 TWh of renewable power annually once fully operational in 2023, saving 1.05 million tonnes of coal usage and lowering 2.78 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, according to MingYang, which launched the project.

11MW MySE 11-230 Turbine Specification

  • Nameplate capacity: 11MW
  • Rotor diameter: 203.0 m
  • Swept Area: 32,365.0 m²
  • Capacity Density: 339.9 W/m²
